Certification Coaching Program Webinars

We have joined forces with five other Chapters (CT, ME, NH/VT, SC and WI) to present this certification coaching series led by Christoph Stauder. This program will equip viewers with the skills and knowledge to master the CHFP exams.

Webinar 1: The Business of Health Care: This webinar provides an overview of the content of HFMA’s 12- to 14-hour Business of Health Care online self-study program and its associated 90-minute exam by covering selected topics from each of the six BoH courses. The webinar will use sample screen prints and knowledge check questions from each of the six courses to illustrate what participants will learn in greater by taking the course and will be expected to know for the exam. The webinar will serve as a brief content review for people who have already begun preparing for the first exam.

Webinar 2: Preparing for the Operational Excellence exam: Since HFMA does not provide a study guide or online course for the Operational Excellence exam (the second of the two CHFP certification exams), this webinar, and the two that follow it, introduces participants to the strategic business skills required of CHFP candidates. Webinar 2 covers the healthcare business environment from the perspective of hospitals, webinars 3 and 4 from the perspective of health plans and physicians. In each of the three webinars, participants are introduced to two business cases illustrating the decisions that senior executives must make in today’s competitive, value-oriented healthcare marketplace. The first two case studies cover Hospital Cost Structure and Hospital Consolidation.

Webinar 3: Preparing for the Operational Excellence exam (continued): This webinar looks at healthcare from the perspective of health plans by way of two business cases involving health plans and their interactions with other market participants. The webinar will discuss the some of the decisions senior executives at health plans must make in today’s competitive, value-oriented healthcare marketplace.

Webinar 4: Preparing for the Operational Excellence exam (conclusion): This webinar looks at healthcare from the perspective of physicians by way of two business cases involving physicians and their interactions with other market participants. The webinar will discuss some of the decisions physician leaders must make in today’s competitive, value-oriented healthcare marketplace.

Members must register for each webinar separately. Priority registration will close at 5 p.m. on 1/25/18.

Registration is a two-step process: (1) register through Cvent; and (2) once your confirmation email is sent you will receive a link which requires you to register on GoToWebinar to obtain the unique link needed to participate in the webinar. 

Your attendance may qualify for 1.2 hours of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits for each session. We have computed the education credits based on an equivalent of 50 minutes for each education credit hour. You are responsible for maintaining adequate records and determining if the content of this program meets the professional licensing requirements of your state.

Joint Physician Practice Management and Enterprise Performance Management Program

Incoming missiles impacting hospital, community health centers, health plans and physician organizations include keeping up with disruptive technology, protecting against cyber attack, contracting challenges, managing costs & long term technology investments, and risk assumption & coordinating care will all be addressed by regional industry leaders who also leave a national footprint. 

At this seminar participants will:
